A blog with two people who fell in love, then became friends.
Name: Christoph Dollis
Location: (when not in Australia or otherwise gallivanting) Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Relationship Status: male
Likes: meeting new people wherever I am often in unnecessarily outrageous ways, friendships, dark roast freshly brewed quality coffee, green tea, the ocean, horses, snow, travel, exhileration at women’s complexities and bemusement at same
Dislikes: way too many to list them all here, but I“ll give it a shot: children, cats, puppies, “cuddling”, candles, dating, and warm baths
Jacqui is my best friend.
We were once seriously infatuated. As you think about your own experiences, maybe you can relate to that?
Next we became boyfriend and girlfriend for over 6 years because we planned to enjoy the rest of our lives as a couple.
I’m Canadian. And she’s Australian.
So near the beginning of our relationship I built a small site learning website stuff as I went along. This was for the entirely selfish goal to give her something to read to keep her mind off the Aussie blokes during the time before we could live together.
Which we’ve since done not once, or twice, but 3 times.
Now at long last we changed the nature — but hopefully not the essence — of our companionship: We’re friends.
Which is what we always were.
I keep “Loving Jacqui” online (at her request) to remind myself of how great she was to and for me through many experiences over the years ... even if our minds didn’t meet enough for us to be together in the way originally intended.
Above all else, I keep this online so she remembers how important and special she is.
There’s all sorts of truisms men tell each other about women. Women are this, women are that.
Jacqui (a.k.a. Bear) was not stereotypical. She had a level of decency that is astounding. She is a key part of my personal life and will remain so as long as she wishes. This ain’t negotiable.
Now that that’s understood, this site transformed into my video and picture gallery as well as my personal blog where I discuss whatever I want, whenever I want ...
... whether Jacqui approves or not. One good thing about a break-up: the other person loses veto privileges.
Crazy ‘Subject’: Her name is Jacqui (short for Jacqueline), her friends call her Jac, and her nickname is Bear. She is a very silly person and was the inspiration for this blog.
