Happy Valentine’s Day!
It is with great love that I wish Bear and all my other loved ones a fantastic day whatever or whomever you’re doing.

Brain fog.
Lack of energy.
Sinking mood.
Confusion.
Lack of motivation.
The list goes on and on. Rarely if ever was a more true article written than this by cardiologist, Dr. William Davis:
I highly recommend you read that, ponder whether it’s been true for you, and share it with your loved ones.

The following post was meant to share photos privately with a friend after a mini-vacation. You won’t want to read it.
Hey Amy and Jacqui,
To download the photos, right click here: [DOWNLOAD LINK REMOVED]. It’s a large file and will take a while to download, but it’s worth it.
Amy, you look adorable in them so if you post this photo somewhere or send it to someone and he recognises the fact, well, I won’t be surprised!
Cheers,
Christoph

A thought came to me.
The same thought had come to me several times lately. I have no power to make another happy.
I am not happy all the time. I’m happy more now than I used to be, and that’s because of steps I’ve taken — fitfully and occasionally — to make it so. Outside of myself I have only the power to love another. Whether this is enough to make the other person happy or if they need to take additional steps is up to them. I recommend the latter.
Then it occurred to me tonight why I named this site, “Loving Jacqui” and not “Making Jacqui Happy”.
‘Cause I do love her even on those days I don’t “make” her happy. I love her even on those days “I make” her feel bad.

And I’ll keep my friends when that happens. You can too. And you can make more, just like I will.
I believe in supporting each other in pursuing and achieving great (good) things… not restraining one another from enjoying all life has to offer.
I just can’t remember where.

Jacqui asks if I’ll still love her when she gets to Canada.
Well it is scientifically possible:
SCIENTISTS have discovered true love. Brain scans have proved that a small number of couples can respond with as much passion after 20 years as most people exhibit only in the first flush of love….
It goes on to list several famous and less than famous people who have kept their love alive. It’s a great list. To that list, I would ad 2:
Jacqui’s grandparents.

I can’t believe it.
The second time in 3 days, from eating the exact same source of food.*
Well, I didn’t make the connection last time, but sure did this time. Took all of 3 seconds to go, “Oh, right, food poisoning.”
I’ll be fine, but ugh. Last thing I want is to feel sick today, which I do. FORTUNATELY I should be right as rain in a day.
* the remainder of which is now in the trash!

It’s hard to believe Jacqui will be here.
I’m looking forward to it. We’ll have to go to the beach together. Again.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas this year. I did!
Now you can download the movie in a format suitable for playing in Windows Media Player by right clicking below:

If you are using Internet Explorer (dad, that’s the one you call “the blue e”) as your web browser — after right clicking with your mouse on the above link, select “Save Target As…” from the menu. Then choose a location on your computer — for example, your Desktop — and Save it there. On the other hand if you’re using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, select “Save Link As…” from the menu.
And here are the photos:

Why is it that poor people will have hundreds of thousands of dollars pass through their hands in their life, and generally will manage to somehow keep a roof over their heads with the rent paid on time or a bit late and keep the car running most of the time and that’s it?
Why do the middle class create a “comfortable” living, but still have to worry about funding college for their kids, having the freedom to take six months off work to explore… or even whether to order the steak and seafood dish they really want without first checking the price or chicken (again) when they go out to a high class restaurant?
How come often rich people who “lose it all” come roaring back with new wealth a few short years later?
What is financial wealth anyway? Income or net worth?
This book answers those question. Like most truths they’re simple.
The author is from North Vancouver, of all places, 80 km away from me.
I am usually diametrically opposed to following an author’s exhortations 100%. But. I read this book and I couldn’t find one word I disagreed with.
The author seemed to be speaking to me and seemed not only to understand what I do, but why I do what I do. He offered a prescription for change and I am heartily following it.
