I went down to pay my respects to Canada’s military and law enforcement veterans including serving members who are engaged in combat and reconstruction operations in Afghanistan today.
My mom came with me. We went to the cenotaph by Victoria, BC’s legislature building where my mom used to work.
On the walk there, we met some sailors from Australia!

It’s true.
I’m having a fantastic time.
Bear (Jacqui) is the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met, except for my mom, and I’ve had the time of my life. That’s as that song goes, but I’ll be nonplussed if it ain’t so.
We’re now in Mandurah, a busy and friendly tourist town south of Perth. Bear’s in the apartment we’re staying at and I’m going for a “walk”.
I could talk about all the touristy things we did, but instead I’ll mention I accomplished some important personal things on this trip I’ve been meaning to do for ages, at last wrote and launched my business website, ChristophDollis.com, and learned who Bear is.
She is as magnificent as I had dreamed.
You know how when you have the “hots” for someone, you make them all perfect in your mind and then months or years later you discover to your chagrin that it was all in your head?
Well, through thick and thin, problem and pleasure, Bear has been her wonderful self, only surprising me by how she rises to the challenge, not that she does.
My grammar may not have been the best, but I hope you catch my meaning. And she’s fun.
During this trip I have stayed variously with her family, at a luxury eco-resort burried in the bush, at a caravan/trailer park, briefly with her husband and wife pastors (yes, it’s a fact), and now at a lovely split level apartment in Mandurah. Her family were especially gracious, the peaceful chalet awesome, the trailer park had a pool under the palm trees for my daily swims, her pastors and their family loving and close, the apartment ideal, and the ocean swimming, scenery, and wildlife, out of this world… yet the highlight has always been the same… the subject of this site.
I set out to find someone special; it wasn’t an accident. And such is the way with most great things.

As I head into the new year, I have exciting things in store, chief of which one week from now is meeting Jacqui whom I’ve had more fun taunting after knowing her from a distance for 2-years than anyone since “Peter Cottondung” (don’t ask) in Junior High.
To understand how she makes me feel, here’s a little audio:
I predict we’re going to have a fantastic year… and the answer to that riddle will be solved shortly.
I also want to take this opportunity to say a big and hearty THANK YOU to the friends and strangers who’ve touched both of us by supporting Loving Jacqui with a kind word, your readership (even my friend’s 11-year old daughter, Cayla, is a shy reader, I’ve heard), and even your financial contributions. It was amazing to us in a good sense that a few people whom we didn’t even know (and a couple we did, like Jacqui’s friend) tripped on this blog and donated something to help us unite: people like Roby, Doug, and Dustin.
All told, I probably raised enough to pay for my passport, which is 10 times my original goal of $8… just to see if it could be done.
Last but not least, my gratitude to Bear’s parents for raising such a one-of-a-kind outstanding daughter with a sidesplitting personality, heart of platinum, and, more importantly, a character to match. I will meet you soon as well as Jacqui’s beloved brothers, James and Johnathon, her sister Caroline, and her friends. I’m sure that *ahem* you have nothing but great things to say about her and don’t have any entertaining stories to tell me about embarrassing situations.
Let’s drink a toast to the future and Jacqui, you and I, let’s do it in person and for real in the coming days.
Happy New Year!

Who should call me tonight after 3+ years, but Kerry, the woman I refer to poignantly here? (See the heading: “What Would It Feel Like to Awaken Massive, Steamy, and Irresistible Passion in Your Love?”)
The first half was a warm, utterly amazing talk with a dear friend. I want to use the term magical. However, instead it was mystical: an engaging connection with someone I love in a deep central and remembered part of my truest self.
The second half was the usual silliness of talking about politics (we disagree).
Silly because I’m a dolt for getting into it!
Water and wine don’t mix and some things are best left to stating a clear opinion and then talking about the weather. Which was fabulous today.
Some great news: Kerry has a beautiful new son in addition to her gorgeous and charismatic daughter (whom I met… she has an out-of-this world lively spirit and one of my deepest regrets in life is misplacing a cartoon picture she drew me).
Every time I talk to her, Kerry’s got a new child! Hey, I just noticed that.
Kerry, wherever you are, realize that I do love you very much each and every day since I met you. We have a connection of souls. It’s a sign of how much I care for you that we can see the world so differently… and I still adore you.
Call me sometime – before the decade’s out!

I’ve just irrevocably deleted photos from ex girlfriends – not those with long-term nostalgic sentiment or with whom I’m sincere and genuine friends with like one who commented anonymously on this blog and that I’d gladly introduce Jacqui to – the ones that were, well, naughty.
Jacqui, don’t let it go to your head… I only deleted those photos because you’re sexier than they are.
No other reason.
(Now, if you play nice with me, I won’t post the beer glass photo.)
