Wheat, Arthritis, Mood, and even Complexion

It made sense to me.

A lot of sense.

Many of the symptoms on this list get quickly better for me with just a couple days off wheat. And a couple days on wheat makes them worse.

Improved rheumatoid arthritis — I have seen this time and time again. Eliminate wheat and the painful thumbs, fingers, and other joints clear up dramatically. Many former rheumatoid sufferers people tell me that one cracker or pretzel will trigger a painful throbbing reminder that lasts a couple of hours.

Better mood — Eliminating wheat makes you happier and experience more stable moods. Just as wheat is responsible for a subset of schizophrenia and bipolar illness (this is fact), and wheat elimination generates dramatic improvement, when you or I eliminate wheat, we also experience a “smoothing” of mood swings.

Better complexion — I’m not entirely sure why, but various rashes will often dissipate, bags under the eyes are reduced, itching in funny places stops.

Make sure you study the points I’ve missed. I believe, based both on the available evidence and my personal experience, this will help you.

Facebook shown to increase jealousy in relationships

Be careful when you surf Facebook, or your relationship status may go from “married” to “it’s complicated,” researchers warn.

Amy Muise, lead author of the study, said the jealousy is caused by overexposing partners to triggers.

The more time you spend on the social networking site, the more likely you are to feel jealous, according to a study from the University of Guelph.

I certainly think Facebook (and blogging and chatting) can lead to less time spent together by the couple. This can even be a good thing, at times, because interactions with others make people more interesting and absence makes the heart grow fonder. To a point.

But it DOES seem rather silly to be communicating with Jacqui by Facebook when we’re living in the same house. And we were doing that. So I guess I sidestepped the problem because I stopped and now I have no clue who says what to Jacqui on Facebook.

Although I’m interested!

The article goes on to say:

Georgina Hobbs-Meyer, 24, is one of the victims of divorce sparked by Facebook jealousy.

According to an article in The Guardian, Hobbs-Meyer stumbled across her husband’s Facebook correspondences with another woman.

“And once I was in, I was hooked. Their lusty e-mails touched on bad beat poetry, but were infused with textspeak, their coy cyberflirts rife with emoticons,” Hobbs told the British newspaper.

Well at least the article admits the divorce was sparked by her jealousy.

“beat poetry” … hmmm. And oh no! Emoticons! Argh!

Call in the divorce lawyers. That‘s a rational response.

Jacqui asks if I’ll still love her when she gets to Canada.

Well it is scientifically possible:

SCIENTISTS have discovered true love. Brain scans have proved that a small number of couples can respond with as much passion after 20 years as most people exhibit only in the first flush of love….

It goes on to list several famous and less than famous people who have kept their love alive. It’s a great list. To that list, I would ad 2:

Jacqui’s grandparents.

Book Review: “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker

Why is it that poor people will have hundreds of thousands of dollars pass through their hands in their life, and generally will manage to somehow keep a roof over their heads with the rent paid on time or a bit late and keep the car running most of the time and that’s it?

Why do the middle class create a “comfortable” living, but still have to worry about funding college for their kids, having the freedom to take six months off work to explore… or even whether to order the steak and seafood dish they really want without first checking the price or chicken (again) when they go out to a high class restaurant?

How come often rich people who “lose it all” come roaring back with new wealth a few short years later?

What is financial wealth anyway? Income or net worth?

This book answers those question. Like most truths they’re simple.

The author is from North Vancouver, of all places, 80 km away from me.

I am usually diametrically opposed to following an author’s exhortations 100%. But. I read this book and I couldn’t find one word I disagreed with.

The author seemed to be speaking to me and seemed not only to understand what I do, but why I do what I do. He offered a prescription for change and I am heartily following it.

Ross Enamait, widely respect health and fitness author and motivator, proprietor of RossTraining.com, has had a baby girl, Brooke, on 21 June: 7 lb 12 oz (3.5 kg).

Is Ross my mentor for being healthy and fit and a motivator, or is he my mentor for being a loving dad x 2?

Her Bearness, Jacqui the Magnificently Silly, went down to Busselton, WA, Australia for almost a week with her family…. it’s strange not to see her on web camera for so long. I enjoyed focusing on me for a bit, but it ain’t as much fun as focusing on her.

She’s back safe and sound and that’s what matters most to me.

Remembrance Day 2007 and Welcome Special Guests

I went down to pay my respects to Canada’s military and law enforcement veterans including serving members who are engaged in combat and reconstruction operations in Afghanistan today.

My mom came with me. We went to the cenotaph by Victoria, BC’s legislature building where my mom used to work.

On the walk there, we met some sailors from Australia!
