Leaving Australia
It’s true.
I’m having a fantastic time.
Bear (Jacqui) is the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met, except for my mom, and I’ve had the time of my life. That’s as that song goes, but I’ll be nonplussed if it ain’t so.
We’re now in Mandurah, a busy and friendly tourist town south of Perth. Bear’s in the apartment we’re staying at and I’m going for a “walk”.
I could talk about all the touristy things we did, but instead I’ll mention I accomplished some important personal things on this trip I’ve been meaning to do for ages, at last wrote and launched my business website, ChristophDollis.com, and learned who Bear is.
She is as magnificent as I had dreamed.
You know how when you have the “hots” for someone, you make them all perfect in your mind and then months or years later you discover to your chagrin that it was all in your head?
Well, through thick and thin, problem and pleasure, Bear has been her wonderful self, only surprising me by how she rises to the challenge, not that she does.
My grammar may not have been the best, but I hope you catch my meaning. And she’s fun.
During this trip I have stayed variously with her family, at a luxury eco-resort burried in the bush, at a caravan/trailer park, briefly with her husband and wife pastors (yes, it’s a fact), and now at a lovely split level apartment in Mandurah. Her family were especially gracious, the peaceful chalet awesome, the trailer park had a pool under the palm trees for my daily swims, her pastors and their family loving and close, the apartment ideal, and the ocean swimming, scenery, and wildlife, out of this world… yet the highlight has always been the same… the subject of this site.
I set out to find someone special; it wasn’t an accident. And such is the way with most great things.

I’m an asshole? Why? Because I pointed out how horrible looking Cherniak’s logo was after he proudly posted it and invited comments? Read the thread. It’s Cherniak, then you who descend into name calling.

I read the thread, Hy.
I said you were “acting like” one and I chose the qualifier on purpose.
You weren’t just criticizing his logo’s shortcomings as was I, you were insulting the man who is trying to make something of himself on a budget. I agree with everything you wrote.
Just not your way of writing it.
Anyway, you said:
… so it’s not like I picked the term out of a hat.
Anyway, I apologize if I overstated my thoughts because I probably attributed Angrywest’s comment to you in error in my haste.
I have no quarrel with you except to say that criticizing Cherniak’s label and, on that political blog (which this isn’t), even his party’s leader’s recent strategy is in good taste and helpful, but I thought you were unnecessarily put downish.
Now gee. I feel like we’re in kindergarten.
But whatever. Remember, the qualifier… I didn’t call you an *ssh*le and that’s on purpose because I don’t think you’re one.
Thanks for dropping by!

… except for the “insulting the man part”. I’m being awfully imprecise today.
Accept my apology.

Thanks very much for the apology. This is one reason why email is sometimes a horrible communication medium. Unless you overtly qualify your responses with qualifiers, things can and often do, get misunderstood.
My first post while admittedly a little harsh was (in my mind, anyway) a good-natured rib. I don’t know if you read Jason’s blog regularly, but from time to time, he scotch tapes together “attack ads” and they usually get panned for their quality (or lack thereof). He called me a fool in his response and the rest, as they say, is history.
I post anonymously because I’m not in the sphere of politics and I may post from time to time when I should be doing other things. I make sure I don’t abuse this anonymity, however, and I try very hard not to make it personal.
BTW, you were definitely right about the logos that guy did up for Jason. The first one was awesome.
Thanks again and best regards.
